FEVO Sport Industry Awards 2024

Rockvolt enjoyed a fantastic evening at the FEVO Sport Industry Awards 2024 with Team Ascot.

Some amazing venues and campaigns were celebrated at the FEVO Sports Industry Awards on Thursday 25th April in front of an audience consisting of 1,600 sporting stars and industry executives at a sold-out Evolution London.

About the Sport Industry Awards

The FEVO Sport Industry Awards celebrates the immense work done around the sector, whether it’s delivering world-leading events of all formats and scale, or using sport as a platform to drive social change, to those campaigns that have an ingenious creative spark which reverberates throughout the industry and beyond.

Rockvolt were present for the awards evening with Ascot Racecourse, who had been shortlisted for the Environmental Sustainability Award for achieving net carbon zero in the Village Enclosure at Royal Ascot 2023. They were shortlisted alongside some excellent campaigns including; Renewaball, Liverpool FC, Aurora, Edgbaston Stadium and The IOC.

The Main Awards Ceremony

During the main awards ceremony, Norwich City was honoured with the Campaign of the Year, partnered with Marsh Sport, for its impactful efforts centered around World Mental Health Day. Their initiatives, including a widely circulated viral video created in collaboration with the Samaritans suicide prevention charity, garnered tens of millions of views within just 24 hours of its release.

The evening maintained its purpose-driven focus as Women's Aid clinched two awards for their 'He's Coming Home' campaign, addressing domestic violence, notably during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Elsewhere, Ryder Cup Europe secured Team of the Year, attributed to their on-course triumphs and remarkable team camaraderie under Luke Donald's leadership. Additionally, Ear to the Ground, based in Manchester, secured Agency of the Year for the second time, further enhancing their esteemed reputation in the industry.

The Environmental Sustainability Award

We were with our client, Ascot Racecourse, who were shortlisted for the Environmental Sustainability Award for ‘Racing to Zero’. However, on this rare occasion we didn’t pick up the first prize. Instead, the incredibly worthy winners Liverpool FC with ‘The Red Way’ took first spot. The Red Way is the leading sustainability programme in football, globally. In the three years since its launch, environmental and social sustainability has become embedded through the club, underpinned by transparency and rigorous third-party certifications.

While the club has continued to grow commercially, the Red Way has driven decreased carbon emissions compared to its 2019/20 baseline, slashed overall waste by 28%, transitioned to 94% of all energy (including fuels) from sustainable sources, and added over 1,000m2 of biodiversity boosting habitat. The club is further leading the way by offsetting 100% of emissions from club operations in the 2022/23 season.
