Sport Positive Summit 2024

Rockvolt enjoyed a fantastic two days at the Sport Positive Summit 2024

As a sports, stadia and venues consultancy business, it’s important that we attend and network at industry leading events. And as always, the Sport Positive Summit - hosted at The Kia Oval on the 8th and 9th October 2024 - was a great place for everyone in the sporting industry to gather together, hear what's going on, and learn about some great new innovations, initiatives and collaborations.

About the Sport Positive Summit

The Sport Positive Summit is an annual event that brings together global sports stakeholders to promote sustainability, climate action, and environmental justice in the sports industry.

It features discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities for organisations such as teams, leagues, brands, NGOs, and governments. The summit aims to drive progress on climate change, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable practices by sharing insights, solutions, and strategies.

The event also recognises outstanding sustainability initiatives through the Sport Positive Awards, celebrating organisations and programmes advancing environmental goals in sports.

As always, the Sport Positive Summit is a great place for everyone in the sporting industry to gather together, hear what's going on, learn some great new stuff, and obviously talk about what their experiences are in trying to keep moving forward in sustainability from a sporting venue point of view.

The big thing this year was collaboration, which is important simply because it’s powerful when a number of organisations all get together and work towards a single goal. The best example of this is the Clean Water Sports Alliance, where several organisations including Swim England, British Rowing, the Royal Yachting Association, British Triathlon, and the Angling Trust campaign for a single objective of improving our water supplies, which the public can get behind and resonates with sporting bodies, as we saw in Paris where the Seine had its problems.

So that working together in collaboration to really push what we can do for the environment, as well as focusing on our own venues and clubs and what we are doing at a more local level, meant it really was an excellent two days.
